COVID-19, is your workplace essential?

Work in a hospital so essential. But we are encouraging all staff to work from home as much as possible, I can do a fair bit remotely. Even medical staff can do admin work from home and perform telehealth work.
A good mate lives in LA and they are under shutdown, he is a fitter and welder but considered essential since he repairs rubbish collection trucks.

Naturopath here in the village is making it to WHO standard as she has bulk ethanol so I can pick up whatever I need.
It just isn't a gel.
No biggy, I'm just using paper towel to wipe down my hands, phones, steering wheel, tablet, etc so it's actually working out ok.
She joked last week who ever thought she'd be the hand sanitiser queen! [emoji23]

When I worked in a research lab, everything was sprayed down with a 70% ethanol solution.
reagent grade ethanol cannot be purchased by the average joe (interestingly, you need to apply to the tax office to get a permit...), but denatured ethanol at 95% purity is none other than methylated spirits. Dilute to 70% with H2O, and you are good to go.

Still essential, at present. Tassie is going to be pretty hard on this, we are expecting Euro type lockdown at some point if people aren't doing the right thing.

It's hard as a business owner, I wouldn't wish this stress on anyone...🤬

Saw a guy in California talking about how we need the economy to survive this if there is to be anything left for us. Made sense to me. He talked about getting out ( he's 56 ) and doing stuff so his kids and grandkids could stay home and survive.

OK, I'm on record as saying that I believe this is overhyped. Of course I could be wrong, as can everyone else. That aside; I'm 66. I no longer work, as I look after mum, but I have skills, the main one being transport. Surely I can be of use to keep younger people at home with their families? I believe Trump is looking at something like this. Surely ScoMo should as well. I don't give a stuff about the virus personally. I'd be happy to help those that do.

Anyone know of someone in the east of Melb that could use someone with an MC licence?

Dam right mate! Land Rover mechanics are essential as we cant have all the LR's left broken down on the side of the road [bigrolf][bigrolf]

Some of my customers are surgeons (and they all drive Defenders, go figure) they have been put on leave as apparently they dont want them being at risk of coming down sick.

firefighter and work for a telco. i've been told im essential. life still feels pretty normal so far.

People often choose something that's the opposite of their daily grind.. Surgeon = precision..... figure it out.
