Ahh, Asterix. I was always amazed how the translations worked. I mean, Vitalstatistix? Getafix? Cacofonix? And of course Dogmatix.

    Merci Maestro

I had an insight to this - when touring France in 1973 I bought one in French. Interesting to compare the names, but I can't remember the differences now - and I loaned it to my eldest grand daughter when she was learning French ten years ago, and it went up in a house fire.

I much preferred the Asterix (and Tintin) comic books to the superhero ones.

Around thirty or more years ago there was a little restaurant near where I live called Asterix. It was fun, with lot's of art, and yes, wild boar WAS on the menu. No magic potion though, sadly.
