Wink Got the virus, the Land Rover virus

    Hello you all,
After many years without a Land Rover in my garage I could not resist more the effects of be without one and I got myself a Disco Tdi300 one owner, date on the Vin 6/1999.
Looks clean like a "city family taxi" and with genuine 235000 km looks like that have done an average of 10000 a year.
I never have an automatic so will see if I can adapt to it but getting a bit old I guess that will be a plus
    Cheers from Tasmania,Chucaro

Haven't seen you around for ages! Welcome back Chucaro...to both the forum and Land Rover ownership!
    Cheers,

Nice clean example you found there.

Surprised 6/99 build plate, then realised they are plated (or were) when they arrived in Oz. They were well and truly making TD5s by June 99.

Welcome, great to see you back, Arthur. I was only wondering, how you were going, the other day.
Congratulations on the Discovery, well purchased.

Thank you guys, it is nice to have a chat with both of you again.
Tombie, you are correct, my first Tdi300 was1998 model and the date on the Vin was 1999
I guess that the important thing is that it was not used during 1998 and half of 1999
Now will be adding some essentials like an engine saver and check if the timing belt has been done. Another job for my mate Justin.
    How are you going Ian?
    Cheers
    Arthur

Good thanks Arthur, enjoying the sunshine and mostly + 25° temperatures.

Welcome back Arthur. Been awhile since you left the sunny state. The VIN plate date is an Australian compliance. They usually have a stamped plate showing the actual build date on them. FYI The last D1 off the line in Pommyland was late August 1998.

The Dunsfold Collection has the very last one (V8 auto).

Yes Paul, last March is 8 years since we left Moore Park Beach.
I know that the 1999 models are the Td5 but it is nice to have one of the players Tdi300 withlog books and one owner.
I just wonder how the auto will be performing in soft terrain, I have never driven an LR auto before.
Oh well, at 74 I still have plenty time to learn
