I got out of the army 9th March, 1985, I had a crew cut No 2 and clean shaven and haven't had a shave or haircut since.
If your beard is itching, wash it morning and night, should help.
You don't have to be worried about tripping over your beard if you don't trim it, as it stops growing after a while. In fact my hair and beard are shorter now than they were in the late 80s and 90s. I used to get my hair platted and tuck it into my belt when I went for a ride on my motorbike. My beard has been platted a number of times by good looking women, one even wanted to plat beads into it spelling my name, that was a bit far so had to say no.[biggrin]
The longer the beard the less scratchy it will be for your SO. Grow it long and let it flow over her body, she will never let you shave it off[bigwhistle][bigwhistle]:firedevil:
Happy beard growing everyone.
Beards gone!
Couldn't handle it. I just found it annoying.
Probably being my age & never having had one it was just a bit much.
So, back to shaving every 3 or 4 days.

BTW Took some cutting off.
Still got mine, think it’s there to stay now. [emoji106]
Mine is getting longer. I'm thinking I might do a grey Ned Kelly.
Beards are like having a stainless steel wire brush coming out of your face. Eating anything or drinking anything is very messy (Probably says more about me than a beard) and in hot weather they make you sweat more. I have given them a good trial, had one for 12 months once and had another couple for 6 months or more. Now I have a shave and a haircut every 3 or 4 days if I need it or not. V8Ian, don't worry about your eyebrows just shave them off. You can't accentuate your point but no eyebrows and wide eyes helps with cutting into the queue at Bunnings [biggrin]
