Budget Direct. Renewal in the mail at $547. Gone up another $30 - $50 annually for four years even though we all have rapidly depreciating and no claims market value vehicles. I decided to do an online quote with same insurance and answers. Quote came to $397.

WTF???? Am I subsidising the new guys who Budget Direct are enticing to sign on??

I rang them to ask why the difference..."um, ah, trying to find the IT department as to different online figures....ring you back"

They rang...and I got cheap insurance

Now the moral of the story.....

don't have an accident, I might be in a spot of bother

    Cheers,
    Lyndon.

Read your policy. Wife worked for these guys, briefly. Budget prices, budget policies, you will be lucky to be covered for anything!

    Yes, you are correct.
There are always loopholes and get out of payment clauses in all insurance claims. So it doesn't really matter who you go with until you have an accident/claim. That is when it gets nasty

Until that happens and the severity of the damage would determine if you are successful or not.

    Cheers,

Just on this - I make a point of doing a "new" insurance quote with my guys each year as they often have discounts and enticements for new policies. If I get a cheaper price on the "new" quote I just ring them and get them to change my renewal. It has happened four years in a row with two different insurers.

i must have rung 20 mobs over the last week and suncorp were the best and cheapest by quite a few bucks. no adjustment in excess or premium if lift is 50mm or less.

so i got $15k agreed value, including nudge bar, side steps, spotlights, upto 50mm lift, covered anywhere anytime long as it isnt in an organised motosport event, rating 1 protection, $417.65, excess = $350

the wifes sirion cost $421.75 with an agreed value of $9k no accessories, and rating 1 protection

signed on the dotted line today, again... they have a premium repairer up the road from me, if i need work done, drive in, they assess and process on the spot and give me a lift back to the shop....

Check out your suncorp policy, son was told over the phone that he is not insured by them if he engages 4WD. What a stupid thing to say to someone who owns a 4Wd, what the hell do you have the car fo if it is not to use it. The person even checked with her supervisor who said the same thing. He went to RACQ, cheaper and was told as long as he did not use his car to make new tracks he is covered. Some insurance policies will not cover you if you pay to go into someones property to use their tracks, such as Landcruiser park. {suncorps policy info states the same as phone conversation, but very hard to miss} Better to be forewarned than find out when you need it. By the way he drives a standard Holden petrol jackaroo [our old one. 2001 model] and as yet it has not let us down, but we can't wait to get our rangey, only 2 months to go!!!!
