    The horn's a good idea.

When my wife was in a wheelchair for a while, we found people are either ignorant (!) or just don't see wheelchairs.

I had two people on my lap falling over me. Also had to stop frequently trying not to run into phone zombies Almost 12 months ago now so was not a COVID risk just funny or annoying. Inconsiderate +++ either way. I was only in the chair for 3 months. It was fantastic to be able to move but added a whole new world of WOW.

yesterday I ventured out to pathology for a blood test.
Dodged the trees over grown over the path, found the area not wheel chair friendly, footpaths disappear and soggy grass areas. if i had a body cam i wood take some pics and pass it on to by-laws and say get your patrols together.

Got bogged on hitting the nature strip and called road side assistance ( Neighbors to rescue) Found they put power poles in the middle of foot paths so you go around each side, the left route has a 3 mt drop with crumbling bitumen path on the edge, other side had camber close to traffic on road. 1 path finished at a bus side parking spot, how the hell do you get past when a bus is parked there, the footpath continues after this.

.Pic of Sword grass over foot path, Council contacted owner and told me it would be cleared in 2 days, that was a week ago, had to get scraped by it on way to my physio the other day. Will complain again tomorrow as I have to pass it again on Friday.. Its worse after rain as the foliage leans over more
I think I going to be an advocate for disability in the area and start making some noise.

iI received a call from the by laws officer about the foliage over the footpath this morning , she advised me it had been cleared.

Later this Arvo I had to use the footpath to get to my Neuro physio appt. No it had not been cleared as said. I rang the council offices to again complain and spoke to a very helpful lady. She asked whether she could help me in other matters. She know the area very well and as I described that the area was not wheel chair friendly and my incident trying to access Belgrave Station on the steep foot path and getting stuck. She opened up a case on this and advised that she will put a request to their path and road maintenance dept to see if a ramp for wheel chair access can be done. I said don't go to all this trouble just for me, she replied no trouble it may benefit other users in the area, ( I haven't seen many wheel chair users up here in my travel)

I had also reported online some other issues of trees and foliage over the pedestrian paths. The By laws officer rang me again this arvo, and told me my original complaint that they said was cleared no says the owners have until the 24th of July to fix. She also said they are working from home and if I had pics of the other problems. I said I didn't and she asked if I could go and take pics by Thursday , when she is on duty again. What now I have to do their job a well.

The local barber has got a wood wedge for me to access her shop now as I had entry problems last time.
Slowly I getting my local area fixed up to my need LOL. 1 st Tecoma, Upwey and Belgrave Then the rest of Melbourne LOL

I trialed the aussie made Frontier V6 All terrain chair today and I loved it. The supplied accompanied me along with my OT on foot. We traveled to all the problem spots and it performed extremely well and capable of the challenges put towards it. So we are putting in an order for one in Yellow/Black.
We challenge the problem Belgrave station access lane and all agreed itis too steep for wheel chairs, we gave it a go those and crept down and made 0it. The w0heel chair rep agreed it is dangerous, but be made it in slippery wet weather. Tried i on boggy nature strip and it glidedover0 with out bogging.
