    How Can I Eradicate Nicole

How can I kill Nicole from the NBN (well she is not actually from the NBN but she says she is) - she has latched onto my home phone and the number of calls per day is really becoming annoying.

Does anyone know Nicole? Many of you must get her calls - where does she live? I don't think anyone would be unhappy if I bumped her off

Yep...I know her well and have had the same experience you are having. Keep hanging up and she will go away for a couple of months....if you're lucky.

I have learnt to hang up before the recording actually kicks in. This seemed to stop her ringing very quickly. Might be triggering a 'no number' available at their end so it drops the number??...or something like that???

She rings at about 4.30 every afternoon at work.
I have learnt if there is a pause, just hang up.
The govt and telcos should have been on this 6 months ago.
If only we could send a reverse high energy pulse back though the phone system and nail her that way.

I had a few calls that I always seam to miss, as my phone is for the business I always call back. The recording is from a nice Aussie lass asking about an accident I was involved in. Then asks me to talk to a claims representative or a manager
You can’t get through to the claims department only a manager who has a Irish accent and I tell him I haven’t been involved in an accident and he says they must have called the wrong number
After a couple of months of calls I googled the number to find out it was some sort of scam
So I rung them back, played along for a while and then give them the old go and get ****ed you silly ****en pom
(Knowing Irish don’t like being called poms)
Well did I cop an earful, but what he didn’t realise is my calls are free and I’ll drive for an hour between jobs, so I just kept calling back again and again and again oh yeah and again
Next thing he has put an Irish woman on the phone who knew the name of the office girl who does all the Telstra bull****
That didn’t deter me, I just played along as if I had no idea who she was talking about and kept ringing her back until they took their phone off the hook

Complain to Telstra and apparently their is nothing they can do

Now when I’m feeling bored driving around I give them a call every now and again and again for a laugh until they take their phone off the hook🤪🤪🤪

Assuming you are a Telstra customer you should’ve able to register your numbers with unwelcome.calls@team.telstra.com or 1800 805 996. Then if you receive ‘unsolicited’ calls the calling party is in breach of the Telecommunications Act. I think if you receive three or more calls from that number Telstra can trace the real answer point assuming the call is generated in Australia.

    Might be of some help...

Can't you block the number, using the phone software?

Ian, I have blocks on several numbers from Ms Nichole. I honestly don't see how our telcos can't sort out the issue with Australian phone numbers starting with '66', which most of my scam calls start with. Almost another 'Conspiracy Theory' topic.

Not, when like all scammers, they use different numbers. These numbers are not being generated from within Australia (or else the authorities would be on them) so the "do not call register" does not apply.
