200 western cross bred wethers a day would try the best of shearers. Big animals, fleece full of sand and burrs and kicked like mules. Kiwis would come here and boast of 300+ a day tallies with wide comb. Tell them they had been shearing clean mice and they got offended. Then put them on a pen of big dirty wethers and they came back to the field. Maybe 120-150.Quote:
