Question Importing a 110 Ute from the UK

Hi all, I've forgotten my login details for my account but I've been around a while. Looking to import a 110 Ute from the UK - We're duel citizens but have lived in the Aus for the last 15 years returning when we can. The idea was to have a landy in Aus for adventures and one in the UK for trips in europe.

Due to covid and issues housing the car its best we bring it over. Has anyone got any advice on importing?

There seems to be a hiccup around us not using the car over the last 12 months?

Any advice would be great & I hope this is the best place to post this.

    Thanks,

    Hi Chards,

    How old is the 110?
If it's built before 1989, you should be able to bring it over as a 30+ year old vehicle.
If it's newer than that, as you hinted at, you might find that you're unable to prove continuous use in the last 12 months to be able to bring it in as a personal import.

Check out infrastructure.gov.au and have a read through the 'eligibility assessment'

So you remember your old username? If so, I can reset the password for you.

    Thanks Diesel Dan,

It's a 2016 110, we've already purchased it over 12 months ago. We have used it in the UK but not continuously - just while we were on trips.

I wonder if Covid is a good enough reason for Discretionary Approvals

Hopefully I'm not up sh*t creek here!

    Thanks

    Hey, Chards!

How’d you go with this? D’you give it a go? I’m in the process of trying something similar but without already owning the vehicle in the UK and would love your advice and help because I had a few questions and I think you’d be the best help.

    Do you mind a PM?

    Thanks, Abs.
