    Today Is Int'l Essential Workers Day.

    Actually I made that up, but in light of the date 24-7. I think it should be used to acknowledge all the people providing 24/7 services like ambo's, firies, doc's, nurses, drive thru coffee vendors, etc.

    According to the U.N.'s calendar the day is free International Days | United Nations

    Nice idea given the context. We realised over here in NZ in lock down just how many it takes to keep society safely operational - from all the usual police, nurses and fire services etc through to the humble supermarket workers who had to work over lock down so we could see food on the shelves and buy it.

    After this is settled, I think it would be a great idea - 24/7 - a unique date combo. Of course for us here it is 24/7. Other parts of the world it is 7/24.

    Yes supermarket workers should be on the list as, if you can't eat, you can't fight the rona, even if they don't all work 24/7, also should add on call tradies, as while they are not on shift, they do keep things running on call outs.

    I think you’ll find that all work is essential. We wouldn’t do it otherwise.

    Not to mention....the truck drivers...who aren't often mentioned! But without them, when everyone was sitting at home, they would have starved to death.

    Yes, truckies should definitely be on the list and a lot of them do work 24/7 driving at night, weekends, etc.
