The really really really rude thread- Let it all out

Got this selfish idea from a post in covid19. 99% of people are helpful, thoughtful and kind. This is not their thread. This is for the 1%ers we all get to see and they make it so easy to see them

To kick it off

The Footpath

Ordered some takeaway (its been a big day at work) Ordered on the phone and told about 30 minutes. Turned up at 30 minutes and paid, told it would be ready in another 5 minutes. Covid19 rules here mean only a few people are allowed inside so I went out and joined a few other socially distant masked up people waiting. Standing on the foot 1/2 a metre from the curb. A car parking pulled in a mm from my recently broken leg and revved the engine very loudly I assume to show his displeasure of my spot on the foot path ( not drive way)

I had my back to the car. I turned to look at the very grumpy ute driver who suddenly became suddenly a lot less aggressive and appeared to look at the sky or any where except at my surprised face. I did not say anything or move till my food was ready.

Let it out. I am sure you get the amazement of seeing the 1%ers doing or saying there self entitled thing(s)

The other morning I had someone rude in an Aussie made V8 sedan think he could go around the D3 when we were joining one freeway from another, granted it is a bit slow off the mark, but once it is rolling and the turbo is on boost he had no chance, I got in the RH lane with his engine roaring behind me, he seemed to think driving up my exhaust pipe was going to get him to his destination even faster, he then flashed his lights at me, but by then we were in thick traffic so I just stayed in the RH lane until he turned off in an industrial area.

And speaking of being up your Zorst, for the first time in my 67 year driving life I had one of those "Quick Response" small Ambulances up my dinger on Friday while stationary at a Red Light. He/she sat there doing a good job of intimidating me with the blue lights & siren continuously in my rear view. I couldn't move anywhere, nor could anyone else. until I could chuck a rightie. What to do? what to do? Buggerall it seems.

The traffic in front gradually cleared on a green & so he/she was off smartish. So was I. I couldn't have got into the turn Right Lane either. I was probably the 4th car behind the Stop Line.


Not wanting to be the cause of a Death by Shopping Trolley up the road & always believing you cannot even cross the line let alone move out, was illegal, I need to know what is one supposed to do in this case.
Not sure why he couldn't drive up the other side of the island like the Fire Service do, maybe he'd left it too late to exit my lane but being one of those AWD wagons it must have been capable of mounting the island & then away.


Anonymous replies please. I promise I won't quote you to any copper who may pull me over one day for using my loaf/following the rule book. I hope that the driver wasn't taking the **** & going to buy his/her lunch.

Personally if there is an emergency services vehicle behind me I break any law to move out the way provided I’m not putting anyone else in immediate danger. Median strips, front verges, pulling into an intersection, pushing past a red. I’ve done them all.

I figure if my wife was the one applying compressions while waiting for the flashing lights, she’s want the wagon there as fast as possible. I don’t want to be the one holding things up and I’d quite happily face court if required to explain why I crossed the line and triggered the red light camera. I’d even cop the fine.

That’s just me though, I’ve seen more than my fair share of oblivious makeup application in the mirror while lights and sirens flash behind.

Yep thanks Brad, that is what one's bladder is telling you to do. I have no idea what the call out was for but watching some of those UK Ambo stories some people want an ambulance because the cat is stuck on the roof etc. although those are sorted out before the Ambulance is dispatched but they do get some queer requests & when they flash up the Map of their coverage area you can see there are some time wasters.


It is physically impossible to move anywhere really, being hemmed in by other vehicles & obstacles so at the end of the day there is not much/any/no choice. I guess it is a case of yer take yer chances waiting for an Ambulance.

The Metro Fire Service & probably others use the opposite side of the road at lights but I guess when you have probably 10 + tonne of Fire Truck coming at you with headlights flashing & Air horn bellowing you'd be a bit daft not to let it through.

This joker could have as well IMHO but maybe the driver lacked a bit of confidence to do that but if I cannot move then neither can he/she . Time to switch off the noise, sit back & maybe have a fag or a Mars Bar & watch the passing parade.

The law in Victoria actually requires you to get out of the way, and I've never heard of anyone being fined as a result of doing that. The last time that I had an ambulance behind me I was at a stoplight - I went across the stop line into the (large) intersection, so technically went through a red light, pulled to the right out of the way, the ambulance went through and then normal traffic resumed.
