'Justice of the Peace' is a bit of a misnomer I think.

My next door neighbour is one, & so far he has assaulted Mrs 4 Bee for something totally unprovoked & the coppers had to be called & bruising photographed, but he squirmed his way out of that one. They made the comment to us "he is a strange unit".

Some years ago, when I innocently requested he note the corner Survey Peg when he was laying a new bitumised driveway, he immeditely wanted to have a poke at me & started dancing around like a bloody goose waving his fists under my nose, wanting to know if I wanted to "have a go".

Of course, I just laughed at him & walked away. Since the assault on Mrs Bee, we believe he is responsible for ripping out 50' of new S & L front fencing.

Is Anger Management included as part of the JP course P38A? If so, I think he needs retraining.

I wonder if he could be stripped of the JP as not being a fit and proper person? He doesn't sound like he is one.

In NSW, it used to be that a JP appointment was for life. That is being changed so that it is for a set term.

If he is charged & found guilty of an offence, then yes he can be stripped of the position. I believe that moves are afoot here to make them short term appointments, but whether that will be for new appoinments only, I don't know.

Have spoken to the Department of Justice when the assault happened, but not given names. Yet.

    What goes around comes around.

Yes Ron I am one - however its a "silent" listing in on the lawlink web page - however if anyone needs a JP in the South West or Parramatta I can help.

The reason I have no number etc listed as my appintmnet is mainly for work, due to the nature of my duties it is essential i am not contactable by any joe bloggs at any time.

Also ill be passing through Lithgow on Sunday 25th if that helps Ace ?

My appointment was originally for work (Telstra) - I've only witnessed one item since and that was last week, here at work.
