Aus. Post is changing their letter delivery to every second working day, in order to deliver more parcels , until 30 June 2021. P. O. boxes will still receive 5 deliveries a week, and Express post items will continue to be delivered every day. Delivery frequency in rural and remote areas will not be affected. Aus. Post can be contacted at auspost.com.au/letterchanges, or Australia Post , reply paid 24393, Melbourne VIC. 8060 with any queries on this change of delivery.
I thought they had already been doing that, We have only been seeing our post man a couple of times a week for quite some time now . Just this week we have received another account to be payed after the due date. I prefer to get paper accounts due to the fact it is too easy to forget we have received them unless I print them. & I know we can arrange to have them payed direct out of our bank account which we have tried but some companies get greedy & double dip & if you do not keep a watch on them , then you have to try to get your money back.
Yeah, got the same card but I've been on a 3 day per week delivery for over a year now anyway - got a similar one a long time back and there's no Postie running around here on Tuesdays and Thursdays any more.
Spoke to a postie yesterday, went to check out his boat for sale with my brother, he says the backlog of mail is horrendous. Tons and Tons of it is just stacking up. The focus is off letters, as Post has stated, and on to small parcels, which is just backing the letters up more, of course. Post had a revenue profit of $7.5 Billion in the 2019/2020 financial year. So, do they hire more staff to process and deliver backlog mail ? No. Executive staff are going to take record bonuses.
Australia Post set to break parcel delivery record, but service struggles with coronavirus demand and delays
Just reading that article I had to laugh - it says the delay in Melbourne is around 3 to 4 days at the moment - just got a package that was posted 13 days ago - from a warehouse 70KM from me. Would have usually taken 2 to 3 days. Even taking out weekends that’s more than 4 days. Another parcel I ordered at the same time from County Vic is still nowhere to be seen - they usually take 4 to 5 days.
Not that it matters to me - neither item I was in a hurry for but the spin they put on it still makes me giggle.
I did order some parts from the ACT 2 weeks ago that I needed quickly so I paid for Express Post and they turned up the next day so they still are moving quickly when required and it was only $4.50 more on that package so money well spent there IMO.
I was up at our workshop & decided to clear the post box , 1st time in 6 months , just full of junk mail as usual . Post man arrived & handed me a flier from Aust Post stating they are only going to deliver every second day . At home we have only been receiving 2 delivery's a week for some time . The flier must have been due for delivery on one of the days they don't deliver. HaHa Have not seen it yet. Any way I was talking to the post man about it all , he was saying there is so much backlog of mail & if some one calls in sick they do not have any one to take his place so it just dose not get delivered . he was also saying that he only works every second day so is loosing wages, he was not happy at all.
So if they are only going to deliver every second day & they deliver Monday , Wednesday & Friday that is 3 deliveries a week but if they Deliver Tuesday & Thursday you will only get 2 deliveries a week unless they are going to deliver Saturday , can't see that.[bighmmm]
Mario sent me an overnight express bag from Melbourne last Monday and it arrived in the North East of Vic today. (Tuesday) 7 business days or 9 business days as I heard they are working on the weekend to catch up. Guess I will be busy this weekend now!
