Most of the things I have ordered online seem to get stuck at the Melbourne processing facility for around 4-7 days.

But nice to hear the Execs getting their million dollar bonuses are asking staff to volunteer to help clear the backlog.

I would actually volunteer to pick up my own parcels if I was allowed out of my suburb.

Reminder: Now is the ideal time to be sending Christmas cards via Australia Post.

Amazon and Myer team up to take on Aus. Post in parcel delivery. Wonder how this will effect the bonuses.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

All Department Stores used to offer Parcel Home Delivery with a fleet of Small Vans & Furniture trucks but alas no more.
Each Store had their own Despatch Dept with a lot of olde blokes (usually) packing goods correctly. Was a very reliable service.

My attention was caught by this.

Ms Holgate is Australia’s highest-paid civil servant, earning more than $2.5 million last year, and her reported bid for senior executives to be paid $7 million in pandemic bonuses was shot down last week.

I dont reckon the dollars are there in the parcel service to justify setting up a competitor to rival Aus Post, otherwise Amazon would have already done it. Remember how Amazon was going to destroy bricks and mortar retailers with next day delivery. Hasn't happened and all my Amazon parcels show up via Aus Post.

I ordered some catches for a bag my wife is making from a shop in Lismore late Tuesday afternoon, it arrives at our place in Brisbane Thursday morning, sent STD post. I could not believe it . I have ordered some other pieces from Warwick Qld on Wednesday we will see how fast postage from just down the road takes.

And they are by far the slowest online retailer to send stuff from the small amount I've used them - you also have to be careful they actually have it in stock - ordered one item that said next day delivery to my Suburb - took 5 weeks to come from China. They are happy to take your money but lie through their teeth on the delivery. What they do have in their warehouse takes 2 days to dispatch from order from the emails I got and then delivery 2 days after that.

Haven't bothered with them again, they certainly aren't taking over like they claimed - I don't actually know anyone that orders regularly from them.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
