I’d buy a Toyota if they all sounded like that.

I wouldn't do it, but it's a better choice than an LS anchor.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Only because Honda doesn't make a V8...

What I don't understand here is; why the toyota lump? Of all the things deemed unreliable on a land rover, the engines (at least the older ones) are not the most unreliable parts on the vehicle, right? My rover V8 has proven to be damn reliable and powerful...

    Cheers,

I agree, the older Chev engines, being all cast iron, are way more superior as anchors than those new fangled plug and play LS alloy motors that are only good for big smiles on owner's faces.

Hmmm. Not with that engine, no.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Still pushrod valve actuation, so last century, I'll take the superior Toyota/ Lexus offering thanks.

Try A 380Kw blown 32 valve intercooled Jag V8 on for performance and aural perfection.... but not in a Defender...😟
