hi Mick, It's taken the wind out of my sails, I'm too scared to use the chair at the moment, I still haven't got the Chair needed yet, that's another story. I'm told to keep fighting by every one, just some days when the pain gets unbearable, well i wont go into that. My son Brendon is working and living and stuck in Japan. Some days I get emotional and fear I wont last till he can come home.
Counseling doesn't take away the extreme pain episodes, they can listen and patronise me all they like but apart from me ventilating at the end of the day, it doesn't take the pain way. There doesn't seem to be any meds for the pain, I don't want to go into care.
They are reviewing my needs for the future and they were talking about lifting equipment to transfer me in the future. I dread that day.
I have been given a voice amplifier which has head set microphone with a belt clip/strap speaker for the moment , and want to do extensive tests for a full communication network when the day comes that I am unable to talk any more.

I think I'm managing with the up and downs as far as my declining mobility issues, there people out there who are quaraplegics etc, they suck it up, so I will have to also. The pain side is what I am struggling with.

The amount of neglect to paths around here just in my few streets near home is atrocious, If they were to repair /patch /replace them it would cost us rate payers a fortune and result in higher rates. I did s google trying to find an address re a complaint of broken footpath and on google maps from a couple of years ago the same holes were in the picture so nothing has been done or may be no one has bothered to report the. It is obvious the shire don't patrol and seek out these things. Council told me that thy appreciated my reports as they would otherwise be unaware. Surely there is a position available with all the unemployment to hire a inspector. it should be up to joe public to do their job.

Given the condition of the paths around you Mario, maybe a discount in rates would be in order. (Good luck with that).

I assume as a disability pensioner Mario would already get a pensioner discount. I do and I'm not disabled (my wife may disagree with that claim A bit shaken after my accident this morning.).
Mario, it's important not to let your accident make you become afraid to keep trying, because you imagine the worst will happen.
My doctor gave me a little talk about not letting my heart attack make me afraid to be active, as some people do. Your situation is different to mine, but the principle is the same.
If we retreat into fear of the worst, then we actually make the worst more likely to happen.
Every day we wake up is a positive bonus, so for mental health it's important to focus on the positives. I'm sure you could make a list of positives in your life. Focus on them.
    Hope that helps.

Mick, I'm not on Disability pension, I have to still work to eat. Heather gets a part carers pension to look after me.

Got back on the horse yesterday to attend an appointment. Felt a little uneasy about it especially since the ground was wet after rain.

Never give up. Pain is a issue which moderates with or with out meds I feel. The Elephant dose of the creme dela creme I was self administering last year honestly did very little in terms of stopping the extreme pain Mario. I was told its the big gun I.V. I can clearly recall several dozen moments/hours or days wishing someone would shoot me as a act of mercy plus. I got a magic bullet with my smashed pelvis operation. The Doctors and nurses were very alarmed I completely stopped pushing my magic Fentanyl button. They had been refilling it for me every four hours. Three staff signed off each time. The tonnes of heavy stuff I came home with mostly never got used.

I am not tougher than anyone else. My still broken leg, ribs and shoulder caused pain was comparatively Zero to the days prior to that surgery. You can beat it. You already have in several ways. Japan return will be cool mate. Ask for the lift and physio as frequently as possible. A few months of not moving has hammered my muscles. Covid 19 is making it hard to repair that. Chatting with my neighbors last night. They gave me an upgrade. MAMIL Middle Age Man In lycra is now VOIMIT Very Old Man In Tights.

You can get those pedal things to do while sitting on a chair so you do not have to be VOIMIT like me mate " Mini Spinning Exercise Cycle " Ask your physio or Doctor first of course - Move it Sir.

Okay, my bad. Thanks for clarifying that. Sounds like you should qualify if you decided to apply.
Good on you for getting back on the horse. Stay positive.

Had a call from my OT. They are coming next Monday with a lifting crane contraption ( engine hoist ???? ) for me to try out. So Heather can crane me out of bed. This is to be written in my plan for future when the time comes that I can not get from the bed.
