The amount of neglect to paths around here just in my few streets near home is atrocious, If they were to repair /patch /replace them it would cost us rate payers a fortune and result in higher rates. I did s google trying to find an address re a complaint of broken footpath and on google maps from a couple of years ago the same holes were in the picture so nothing has been done or may be no one has bothered to report the. It is obvious the shire don't patrol and seek out these things. Council told me that thy appreciated my reports as they would otherwise be unaware. Surely there is a position available with all the unemployment to hire a inspector. it should be up to joe public to do their job.
I have gleaned form my dealings with our council that the way to expedite action on a pothole, lifted walkway, etc, is to say that it is dangerous, i.e. someone could get hurt, this bumps it up the list.
