Iselect fined $ 8 million after duping customers.

Product comparison site iSelect has been ordered to pay $8.5 million in penalties for deceiving customers who used its website to compare energy plans.
iSelect admitted that it misled hundreds of thousands of consumers between November 2016 and December 2018 by claiming it would compare all electricity plans offered by its partners and recommend the most suitable or competitive plan, when it actually did not.
ISelect fined more than $8m after admitting duping customers
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

All comparison sites get commission from the various suppliers that's how they get their income. They will only offer suggestions to you of sellers who pay them commission and subscribe to their service. They are in it to make money and who ever offers them the best kick back is who they put forward.

    Nope.

A little like ASIC, ASX kicking the crud out of some yet letting Crown, Banks and similar get way with paltry taps on the wrists for significant crimes or abuses.

The "Biggest ever fine- Westpac "was pathetic for "more than 23 million occasions, including the failure to adequately monitor the accounts of a convicted child sex offender who was regularly sending money to the Philippines." "each contravention attracting a civil penalty between $17 million and $21 million," the regulator noted."
They got a feather of a few dollars instead.

The really only independent review is Choice. Even that is occasionally poor advice when on technology or issue not understood by the reviewer. Not a frequent issue at Choice happily
