Sure he had a difficult upbringing,as many others do,but its no excuse for ending  up a career criminal.
Many actually are worse after being in jail,as its the university of crime,they learn off each other.
In fact at the Youth centre,they keep the kids from different geographical areas separate,to restrict learning new tricks from each other.
As an example i have a good mate who grew up in and out of orphanages.Had a shocking upbringing.Orphanages in those days were not much fun.Never knew his biological parents.
Stole cars,burgled houses,etc,etc in his early teens.
Was offered a job at Lovelocks,a refrigeration wholesaler,at 19,on the condition he changed his life completely,which he did,and after 40 yrs,is still there.His kids now work in the same company as well.
