Tombie, can I have your FIT with my 8kw panels please?
I'll let you know how the process goes but so far it appears that it could take some time, not the couple of days that I expected. My plan information showed only a flat rate yet our meter is TOU, but hopefully that's now sorted before the change-over rather than after.
Tombie's FIT is great but IIRC strings are attached.
System size can’t be increased beyond inverter that was registered without defaulting to lower FIT
Only applies to current residence - we move - it drops.
Other than that no other restrictions.
We can however, fit another solar unit to a different phase and have 2 units feeding in on different FIT through different meters if we wish.
About to kick off our renovations and the intention is to fit full roof solar, battery storage and drop off grid. The current unit will bypass the main dwelling and only feed to grid optimising returns on its output. Will also up it’s panels to maximum inverter capability.
With the current system - I can replace inverter size for size, I can add panels to push it to maximum output - a 5kw inverter can run about 5.4kw of panels.
The orientation can be changed - although in my case they are 6° off Due North and 24° inclination. So pretty good.
