That bloke Tim reckons he can borrow one of those C cranes. There is a wharf at Tooradin with the engineered socket it requires.
BTW, I have also contacted Hansa Sailing Systems in NSW to see if they can help in any way. Between us we will get you some fishing, Mario.

I have Emailed Tim asking for the contacts he promised. Offered to help check the old fiberglass boats he is considering as incentive. Some times I should keep my mouth shut plus![]()
Edit Also Emailed the state reps of revolutionise.com.au the Hansa Class state people here in Vic.
you guys really wore me out. LOL
l feel asleep in my chair yesterday arvo. today l can hardly move. my home visit physio today said I was too fatigued to do anything and to rest, whilst he was here I walked a few paces, then my body seized and the pain became unbearable and I was in tears. Earlier my pysch called in this morning and said i was on a downer today.
They both told me I had a busy couple of weeks and did a bit too much, to which I replied l was just living. l told them both l have a goal to go fishing even if I suffer for a week and people are going through a lot of trouble for me to achieve this dream..
I suppose that the company making the winch has all the approvals and test certificates in place. Part of my job in another life working offshore involved "man riding winches". ALL approved man riding winches HAVE to use a worm drive type of operating mechanism that does not depend on any brake. In fact, most of them do not even have a mechanical brake. A worm drive CANNOT run back when stopped with a load on it.
I notice in the video, and on the manufacture's website, that the winch being used has both a brake and a ratcheting pawl. I guess that the pawl is automatic, as it does not show any operating device.
It seems that the whole thing is only legal if used in conjunction with an automatic back up fall device. All well and good as long as the operator remembers to attach it. Not trying to knock this one in any way, just pointing out what I know from experience.
The following is overkill for this application, just to show what is available:
Tiger Worm Drive Non-Brake Winch 900kg (beaver.com.au)
I believe so, but we will be checking. They have a lot to do with this sort of thing.
Very true.
I'm certainly grateful for you input. Apart from the complete unsuitability of the hoist provided by Parks, it was the whole slinging arrangement that daunted me. On that topic, Mario, is your carer certified with the sling thing? It would be great if she is.

Even though it is with the best of intentions, under the law you could ALL be exposing yourselves to mind boggling legal costs if something were to go wrong and cause an injury, or worse.
Is the boat you want to use in the water, or on a trailer? If on a trailer at a boat ramp I think that I would be looking at getting Mario into it before it goes in the water. Depending on what his wheelchair is, look at lifting that into the boat with him in it, rather than having the stress of getting him into a sling.
