AWW that's beautiful from the little lady![]()
Don't want to denigrate the NDIS as we appreciate their help, But
They are a bit thick!
We have 4 Special Needs kids, 2 with different FAS issues, 1 with hearing issues & 1 with high Autism issues.
The 2 FAS kids are funded for about 25 hours per week which is good & doing good but the boy with Autism is only funded for 3 hours per week which is useless.
We are currently trying to have him re-accessed. The funding sends him to a support group thing which he loves & while there he actually interacts with people & learns to socialize.
He is not a dumb boy, in fact quite smart, but is really lacking in social skills & life skills, the support group does him wonders with people that aren't family.
His next review is not supposed to be until March but we will make some noise & see what happens.

You got to make noise, I know how frustrating it is. just yesterday we got w got another light touch review * about the 4th one in 18 months. the beauty of the light touch review is it tops up all your funding like core and consumables , transport allowance back to the original amounts. so what your already spent doesn't get deducted,
My CORE has been made flexible so my support funding can be moved around to suit my care where needed.
Are you self managed or I'm not, it's too complicated and have a plan manager batting for me their fee comes our of an allowance i my plan, she can spend hrs on the phone and can instigate complaints on the Ndis on my behalf.
Yes, I think we have some sort of NDIS Manager. Have to ask SWMBO.
Part of the problem is Child Safety, we have to run everything by them before we can do it & they seem to have an aversion to upsetting people.
I don't!
Child Safety are doing there bit but are overstretched so a lot we do, willingly, but still have to make sure we are not overstepping the bounds.
SWMBO is currently trying to get a re-assessment. Because he is 16 they want to interview him but he won't talk to people he doesn't know so that doesn't help.
Anyway onward we go into the bureaucratic abyss!

Have you got a good OT? I found out the hard way 1st time around. A good OT that can use big words and write good detailed reports, the goobly gook and crossed T's and dotted I's is what the planner like it covers bums. But that might be a challenge due to your remoteness
I had 2 falls this weekend ( bring it to a total falls to 4 this month, (3 of them resulting in me being unconscious)
The one yesterday required an ambulance attendance, 40 minutes laying on the floor waiting for a special ambulance crew with lifting equipment that had to come from some distance way. Having gone down like a 'demolition of a chimney' my legs twisted in different directions and my torso the landing on them. Them ambos lifted me with their equipment and got me to my bed. no point in transporting me to hospital as the hospital cant do anything for me. I spent all day in bed today. So I am anxiously waiting this lift installation so I can get the wheel chair into the house.
I hope it happens soon, mate.
