The previous owner of our property was an amateur herpetologist and when he moved out, he released all his specimens into the wild here.
We have some very interesting encounters. There is one grass snake species in particular, that is an iridescent, emerald green. Truly a thing of beauty.
Browns are common, but go their own way, whilst the Small-Eyed snakes seem to be thriving.
Resident pythons must be 6-8 in number and common grass and tree snakes are plentiful, although our kookie family sometimes thin them out.[biggrin]

Cold weather,they are still around.
Found this huge one harrasing the chooks.Hadn't eaten one,but i bet it has eaten a few rats, bandicoots and possums that seem to be around.
Anyway, into the bin and off to the local forest about 10Km away so hopefully he won't be back.[bigsmile1]
