I am pretty sure you are correct.. In the early 80’s I was working on the IBM mainframes at AMP and all the DASD (disk storage) was in a lead lined room on the 7 or 8th floor at the Circular Quay office. This was apparently after the Navy had accidentally run its radar and caused significant loss of data. Oops
Are you sure it wasn't the '60s?

Destroyer Escorts radar was ok. DDGs really took power up a level or ten [bigwhistle]. Rumour just added about a 3 second burst in a NZ city which took all out all A.T.M.s in that nice city. We all know ATMs are not pre 1980 I think[bigwhistle] Pretty sure NZ was a 86 effort. SPARKIES again

Get one of these in your backyard..
Jeeeeeezuz Sash, those would also do a bloody good job of ploughing/aerating one's back garden while they are at it.[bigrolf]
I doubt the Home Gardeners on here would appreciate that. But then again........???[smilebigeye]
Seem to remember a movie I watched years ago where turning the radar on in the ship allows the crew to control the odds in the casino. You telling me this was not true?
