Well I can't buy them as I have already told the other half no more than 3 kids or we have to buy a second Defender as mine is only a 5 seater and is a senior family member.

Although they were big with over 400 members , only about 60 were active abnd this is probably even more a problem now with Rangies at $150K and Discos at 65k plus..
I see nothing wrong with a one make club. There are many. Maybe the member made a mistake in asking the Disco to join them. This is pretty silly as the directors of the club would be taking public liability responsibility for the person's welfare, and if the person was hurt they could be sued as he was not a club member. So the problem is that asking even the Disco was stupid and I doubt whether the person asking had any authority to do so, unless he was a committee member..

I recall that members could bring a guest along once only , and I recall taking a Pajero with us to Yalwal once about 13 years . He got through with only severe bash plate damage. But this was before director's liability.

I prefer the rough and tumble of a mixed brand club like the discovery club, although we have so many GUs now maybe it should be the disGUvery club. What would we talk about if not the merits of one brand vs another.
    Regards Philip A

I bought my S1 Disco from a bloke who was in thia club - he lives im Mittagong - my disco is a dark green 2 door - it was featured in some top end pics that used to be displayed in the club posters that hey have at shows....

A special meeting will need to be called by yourself, where you can either vote yes or no to a motion of no confidence in yourself.
If a yes vote is garnered, you will be banned from yourself, and your club will have to be disbanded.
You can appeal to yourself, but will have to follow the instructions laid out in section 22, part 3 expulsion of self from said entity, and appeals allowed.

    Good luck with that though

No i couldn't do that, as i would not wave to Discos and Rangies drivers, so that would make me descrimatory (if that's a word)

So as Vice President of LROCWA it appears that I might be a bit of a knob?
Well I will have to ask at our next meeting.
Have been a committee member since 94 on this club
We are celebrating our 40 years in 2008 and still have founding members who are active!

No offence taken as I know what its all about
By the way we have 80% landrovers and 20% of the others and allow anyone in with whatever make of vehicle.
    Makes for some hardy bantering
    take it slow

    Brad,

My point was that there are knobs that would rather debate motions, go to meetings, than actually do anything, not that eveyone on a committee is a knob.
I'm in several clubs, and on the RRCQ committee, and have been on several committees and held heaps of different positions! So that can't be true
Could I be a knob? No of course not

    Dullbird,

I don't think Inc, meant to offend, but class & discrimination is what the Brits are founded on (royalty, lords, peerage, title) etc,
But I agree, it isn't good to generalise, because while all Brits are w*nkers, not all w*nkers are Brits!!

(I'm just kidding - and stirring the pot- don't take offence - someone may need it to keep their dog in)

Right - what was thread about again
