I think the fold up toilet seats will also take plastic shopping bags if you want to take the excrement with you.

I've got one but am yet to take it with me on a trip. I'm sick of squatting.

Crump - have used it - but it's mainly for the wee ones (bom bom) and the wife - I usually take the shovel and use that anyway......
    Goes something like this aaaah

Except after pints of the black stuff

I find something quite satisfying about a bush turd over and above the usual gratification one gets from a civilsed one, and its a good pelvic floor muscle workout into the bargain.

Theres nothing like sitting there enjoying the morning crap high up on the side of a waterhole (not real close to the water) when a couple serenely paddle past you in their canoe, naturally giving you a friendly wave.

Did a 5 week trip in 1985 without any toilet seat - never again, too uncomfortable.

I have been looking at one of these for when I take my girls camping. 7 and 11. Just a bit more comfort combined with a bit of effort digging a hole.

Yeah the Jimmys Thunderbox gets the thumbs up from me, folds flat and is much more closer to a home comfort for the softies in the group (mum & kids) and if you have a happy group then you will have a happy time away.

I beleive there are 3 important things to have in the bush to keep the troops happy

    1. Comfortable warm bed

    2. Hot shower at days end

    3. Easy comfortable toilet facilities

I would stick to the shovel and hole method...............Jeeeezzzz ya would'nt want to be heading home and have a head-on with a full port-a-potty in the back. Instant insurance write off as the assessor would'nt be able to get close enough to assess.

The hole is cheaper too, particularly with a wife and 5 daughters, so what if the animals dig it all up......just shift accross to the other side of the camping grounds and let the pommie tourists take over ya old site.
