The Cup boats would be built to take the load and a carbon mast has a lot more rigidity than aluminium.
The mass produced cruisers (fibreglass......... no carbon in the hulls) bend in the middle when the backstays are cranked on from memory, when the skipper is trying to get more tension on the forestay to get better shape in the headsail.
Also the tension on mainsheet gets cranked on to keep tension on the leech of the mainsail for better shape and this also tries to push the mast through the bottom of the boat with the aid of the forestay.
Can make it hard to open the cupboards downstairs when racing pleb boats.
I've gotta say though that they are so well designed and built for cruising that you have great memories for life!

My money's on the Kiwis.
America’s Cup divided loyalties
The PRADA CUP is underway in Auckland with all the thrills and spills to be expected of the magnificent foiling AC75s
Organised by the Challenger of Record, the PRADA Cup Challenger Selection Series determines which Challenger will take on the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, in the 36th America's Cup Match. To win the America’s Cup first you have to win the PRADA Cup.
INEOS TEAM UK is unbeaten and as a result, Sir Ben Ainslie’s team qualify directly to the PRADA Cup final. There is a good chance that the final Challenger race will be between the Italians and the British. If the Brits win they will face the Kiwis in a battle for the America’s Cup. There is a chance for Sir Ben and his team to reverse 170 years of disappointment and torment – no pressure.
Here lies the quandary for Aussies: do we support our Kiwi cousins, who regularly flog us at rugby and claim to have invented the pavlova, or do we back the Poms who chucked us out 233 years ago?

INEOS TEAM UK stays unbeaten after what was probably the closest race seen so far on the AC75s, with 9 lead changes throughout the nail biting race against Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli.
With that result, Sir Ben Ainslie’s team won their the fifth race in a row in the Round Robins. Upon finishing the ‘ghost race’ start successfully it took them to 6 points, enough to qualify directly to the PRADA Cup final.
The Italian Challenger of Record fought until the last jibe of the last leg of a race that was the perfect definition of match race which saw the top speeds exceeding the 50 knot mark for the first time in racing. If the tension surrounding this Italian/British shoot out for the right to jump straight to the PRADA Cup final wasn’t enough, the weather was about to throw plenty of more stress into the mix.

In related sailing news for the 1st time in history the 1st person to cross the finish line of the Vendee Globe is not the winner.
Yannick Bestaven wins Vendée Globe as dramatic sea rescue proves crucial | Sailing | The Guardian
''Yannick Bestaven won the Vendée Globe solo round the world sailing race after he was handed a time bonus of more than 10 hours for his role in rescuing a fellow competitor, more than 80 days alone at sea and an unusually close final few hours to determine the winner on Thursday.
The 48-year-old was not the first to cross the finish line — that honour went to his fellow Frenchman Charlie Dalin, who arrived in Les Sables-d’Olonne on Wednesday night.

Bestaven, the skipper of Maître CoQ IV, wrapped up his odyssey in the early hours of Thursday when he crossed the finish behind Dalin and Louis Burton. But thanks to the time bonus he earned for helping rescue a competitor, he was declared winner in 80 days, three hours, 44min and 46sec.''
