    After reading this, I tend to get the impression this bloke just does not like Land Rovers. It is quite obvious that he has only ever owned one, just has no sense of adventure.

    Unfortunately what he says is true.
    I have seen first hand what happens to the 4cyl motors in the freelanders.
    The diesel and v6 seem to be better.
    His cost of 7 grand is also about right as they need new blocks.
    Landrover are aware but dont want to know about the problem.
    Sad really
    I feel sorry for him as he obviously did not know before he purchased.

    Its all because of the cooling system, if that was sorted they wouldnt overheat and cause all of those problems. Matt

    there used to be (dont think it still exsists) WHOLE website dedicated to Freelanders problem cars all over the world: it was called: "My Freelander is a Lemon" - or something like that?!
