    Go figure...
No rego and no licence............. too hard, but not not illegal AFAIK if their rear wheels are over the departure line before the lights go red anyway.

Closer inspection of reviews of the laws in Vic says that going through on orange should only happen if it unsafe to stop before entering the intersection.

There are mentions of red light cameras that will go off half a second after you've crossed a sensor past the solid stop line if the light has been orange.

The back wheels over the line before the lights turn red is how I've always known it.

Just by coincidence, the last portrait of my POS was taken by a fixed camera at an intersection some years ago. Shows me mostly across the intersection with the light red, but the rap was for being a couple of k's over the threshold. I don't do red lights, ever.

There are arseholes everywhere in society but but we should, at the very least, be trying to remove them from the organisations that are meant to exemplify integrity:

A nice little earner for NSW. Feb 2020 saw the collection of $400,000 from mobile speed cameras, this February it was $6,199,958. Given that all that has changed is the removal of warning signage does this not mean that covert speed cameras are actually allowing more people to speed and be fined afterward? Would it not be better to have people travelling at posted speed limits and not be fined?
I don't hold out much hope that they will put the signs back though even if it makes a mockery of the "road safety" mantra they use to justify removing the signs.

The USA model works far better.

Go with the flow and you’re ignored.
Smooth traffic flow is more important.

Going with the flow is allowed in WA as long as everyone is doing below the posted limit. Anything over and you’d all get booked.
The only thing that kills apparently is going over the limit. We see plenty of stupid on the roads around us as we live not far from the police academy.
But as a sergeant said to me “If we don’t give them a pretty car to drive, many wouldn’t join”.

    Unbloodybelievable.

16 pages of people whinging and whining about speed cameras and the associated fines.
The answer to the problem is very VERY Simple, DON'T Speed and you won't cop a fine

If your sense of self entitlement makes you feel that you have a God given right to speed on the roads then tough titties if you get busted as far as I am concerned

Agreed - totally avoidable tax this one is. I think I was the only person doing 80 in the 80KPH zone into the City yesterday - 84 on my speedo, 80 on the GPS - every other lane was travelling faster than I was and I had a guy sitting right up my arse rather than use of the other 4 lanes available - so of course I did the only thing you can do in this situation - I slowed down...

    Agree.

Would you also agree many areas are signposted significantly below a sensible/rational speed.

Would you also agree the standard of driver training is abhorrent.

Would you also agree the tolerance on fines is too small - for example a 2-3km/h excursion above the limit is not solid grounds for a fine.
