I get the orb weavers seasonally.
When they start weaving across pathways etc I just gently reattach their main guy ropes to another point.
After doing this a few times they stop weaving over the walkways and paths
They are very easy to handle and allow you to put them on your hand to reposition them if you need to.
While doing a guided Daintree walk a couple of years ago our guide introduced us to the largest spider I have ever seen , an Australian Bird Eating Spider , I believe it was. He had photos of this young lady eating a small bird. She apparently had not moved her web for years. There were no males , she eats them and every so often one seems to have his way........then she eats him.
