I get the orb weavers seasonally.

When they start weaving across pathways etc I just gently reattach their main guy ropes to another point.

After doing this a few times they stop weaving over the walkways and paths

They are very easy to handle and allow you to put them on your hand to reposition them if you need to.

While doing a guided Daintree walk a couple of years ago our guide introduced us to the largest spider I have ever seen , an Australian Bird Eating Spider , I believe it was. He had photos of this young lady eating a small bird. She apparently had not moved her web for years. There were no males , she eats them and every so often one seems to have his way........then she eats him.

How to tell deadly funnel-webs from trapdoor and black house spiders

How to tell deadly funnel-webs from trapdoor and black house spiders - ABC News

What do you think of when you hear the name "funnel-web spider"? Perhaps a spider that builds a funnel in its web?
On that count, then, you might think this web on a door frame is a funnel-web's home.

But according to spider expert Helen Smith from the Australian Museum, funnel-webs are not likely to build on door frames.

Their webs also have a different design, with characteristic "trip lines" to alert the spider to passing prey.

This one has been growing larger over the summer under our verandah. It rebuilds its web fairly frequently when it gets blown away or disturbed.
