This is where the Yellowtop batteries were ( emphasis on WERE ) good AGM batteries in that they were both a Deep Cycle battery and excellent Cranking battery.
The SSB HVT range of batteries are very similar. They are both a Cranking Battery and a Deep Cycle AGM.
Having a deep cycle battery as the auxiliary battery is self explanatory, but most people do not understand that also having a Cranking battery capability means a much faster recharge.
So you have both the Ampere Hours ( Ah ) capacity, but you also have the shorter drive time needed to recharge these batteries.
As I have pointed out in other threads, with my isolators, used with the correct type of auxiliary battery, and the most important factor, the high current capacity alternators Land Rovers have. Combine all three and you have the ultimate dual battery system, capable of replacing used battery capacity is as much as 6x faster than a DC/DC device.
This may sound like a promo for my gear ( and it is ) but it is important to know you to have have the correct battery type, to gain the best results.
This is why I have been promoting SSBs HVT range of batteries.
BTW, if anyone uses my Super Start Battery account, I do not get one cent from the sale. While they offered me a % of the sale, I opted for the maximum discount to go to the customer.
