    Price of 'cheap' ?

Brother in Law bought 'Er Inside a little prezzy, quite a few $ hundred$ worth of BBQ, neat little invention wot folds up an' gets wheeled in and out as required. NOT a cheapie, purchased online from a Wangarattat(VIC) evilbay shop.
Good thing it popped when it did.... Son had long finished a meal, didn't turn off the cylinder valve.... hours later, Ka-HHIIISSSSS.

NO prizes for guessing where it was made.... Being a 'Travelling' model, it's dual-use, real LPG cylinders or disposable ones that screw straight up to the gas regulator underneath.
Probably used about a dozen times over 3 months, stored in a shed.

And the point of the comment on the country of origin is what?

Hope you’re not on any medication, use any technology, or generally do anything but live in a cave….

Not a failure I've seen before. I always turn off the cylinder as soon as I'm done - not that I would have considered a hose blowing, but the hoses do degrade and the o rings on the end that seal the fitting into the bottle don't last long so can have a tendency to leak. It's more about saving the gas so I have some for the next BBQ and it not all just drifting slowly away rather than safety though - but I do always check the hoses, connections and fittings regularly as well. Between the 2 BBQ's at home, the homemade spit and the Ziggy in the Motorhome, I seem to end up buying a new hose once every couple of years anyway as they degrade and start to crack - cheap and easy fix.

How old is it? According to their website, the hose should be covered for 2 years - Warranties | Napoleon - I would consider the hose to be part of 'All other parts' - so it shouldn't cost a cent to fix.

Edit - just looking at some user reviews of this grill and most are favorable, but the ones who weren't seem to have issues with the gas line, fittings and controls - so maybe not an isolated incident with them, but it does seem that they back their warranty so I'd be giving them a call.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I am more concerned as to the quality of the hose and if the stamped standard is correct. Please report the incident with hose to the gas authorities so that a recall can be made and further investigations can begin.

There are a lot of standards around gas fittings and it looks like this doesnt comply and is very dangerous.

Some states don’t even have a gas authority like we have Energy Safe here in Vic. How the compliance with Electrical standards is done outside Vic is very different to what we do here, I’m pretty sure gas is too.

I think you could be right - has the standard printed on the hose but may not comply, but the chances are anything being done are very slim so companies take the risk - or don’t even know they are buying a non compliant product to onsell on their equipment.

Well if its like me I point out where something is made to highlight there is many options besides buying cheap rubbish that ends up in land fill.

medication (not knowing the actual percentage) India.
Technology well since 2018 its looking pretty bleak for one country with its supposedly high tech semi-conductor industry and also their plane manufacturing industry.

I can pretty well say my own daily purchases of "Made in China" is close to ZERO.
It is for no other reason than it's not a regime I support.

My "Made in Australia" by a Australian owned company though is as high as I can get it.
    Regards

I bought a big mofo gas weeding wand last year that is distributed in OZ through an Aus company.

Came with 2m of hose that has correct fittings each end.

The ebay knock offs look identical, 1/4 the price, but have maybe the right fitting on one end of the hose and the other is a threaded barb with hose clamps supplied.

They started off with supplying one hose clamp (looking at the reviews) and then upgraded to supplying 2 or 3 after complaints of leaks or hoses blowing off.

Dunno how these can be legally sold.

    cheers, DL

Was that factored into your recent 'Care Flight'. Mike? RFDS may have taken a little longer if vectored from Beijing.

You raise a good point though. There is absolutely no good reason why medications cannot be made here. GSW have a facility not far from me. They used to make stuff here, but the lure of the $$$ was too much. Now, in the wake of the Wuhan cold, we should be seriously taking control of our meds back from the CCCP. We have wasted far too much on this garbage.

Have you read the fine print? I was looking at aircon regas kits. They can sell 'em, but I can't use 'em. That's how.

No, it was however contacted on a Chinese assembled phone.

I was given medications made in China, on a Chinese component gurney. Price of 'cheap' ?

Planes are Swedish? Or something similar. They suffer in high temperatures. Found that amusing!
