What difference would it make, Bob? We are at the mercy of the whims of the world. World parity, and all that.

I'm on Bobs' side here i think we will see a bit of an increase in fuel costs.
My cynical view is that "any excuse will do"
If it was a container ship with EV batteries as cargo, would their charges increase?![]()
'sit bonum tempora volvunt'
i reckon the Easter break and School Holidays will accelerate the rise in price faster .....
i'm not cynical - much

Not mention the Land Rover parts in the containers unable to get through now, ( the dock strike early last year then Covid , now this.) grrrr
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Perfect timing, the charger on my EV Landy has just thrown a wobbly,
Delivery time = 6 weeks from China , I have to get in the queue with all the Chinese EV car makers.
Probably just thinking of myself, 130l fuel tank, lasts me a while if I manage it properly. I think our fuel prices are regulated by Singapore. It could be weeks before that ship is moved, they say. I'm thinking prices will go up proportional to the length of the blockage, [ Easter, any one?]then drop again. Guess I'm turning into a real grey nomad, watching every penny. The following link says fuel prices may not rise considerably in the short term, but the rise in freight costs, and shortage in consumer products such as computer chips, might cause rises in computer and consumer prices.
Ever Given Suez Canal blockage should not drive up petrol prices, but Easter might (msn.com)

The price of fuel here should be dropping. There is no impediment to crude getting to Singapore, where the bulk of our fuel is refined. The impediment is to Europe, so there should be a glut this side of the Suez.
It's only greed and gouging driving fuel prices up just before Easter. Nothing new.
