I would go one step beyond that and decree that it is incumbent of the truck driver to force these superb specimens of driver awareness, off the road at the truck drivers earliest convenience.

I'd extend that to everyone. Want to do 80? No worries, just don't do 120 in the overtaking lane and then drop back to 80 after the merge.
Pick a speed and stick to it. Maybe I'd mandate everyone use cruise control unless overtaking.
