Couple of years ago I had double knee replacement & couldn't get one , Found it hard getting in & out the passengers side when the vehicles beside us parked on the line . A permit would have been a help as these bays are a bit wider so you can fully open the doors.Quote:

My wife got a temp permit for her hip replacement and later after her spine op [bigrolf] . You don't know why people ( or clowns in your opinion ) who display no outward symptoms may need a permit . :no2: .

Simply hang the permit from rear view mirror and off you go.
As long as you have a permit our local council won't even look.
I went to a shopping centre close to me last night, it has 14 disabled spots in the underground and more outside - and prob 150-200 people in the centre (to be fair its hard to accurately estimate people in a large area when they are moving) I did not see one wheelchair, scooter or 4point walking frame...A miracle to be sure.

I think that it would be fair to say that most of the people I see using disabled parking bays have no disability at all. If your wife had a THR she'd've been on crutches for some time and after spinal damage I doubt that she was bouncing around, so I would expect that she had outward symptoms.Quote:
