Looky here new disability parking permit

I got my new disabilty parking stick today under the new scheme hooray. Now you need to have special criteria to get the blue sticker. Should stop the people parking in bunning's disabled parking spots by people who park there and put on a limp when you catch them, come renewal time it should weed then out.

I hate assholes that do that. Never a spot when I take Mum out shopping and half the parks have got cars in them without stickers. Unfortunately I’m not sure how this new sticker will help - assholes will still be assholes.

My next door neighbour only had one leg but never parks in disabled zones even though he has a sticker because he gets about fine on his prosthesis or can hop to the back of the car to get his wheelchair and says ‘Those spots are better off for people that need them’

Wish a few more people would think like that but the ones that abuse these parks are self centred so wouldn’t give a **** anyway.

Blue permits. It must be a 4 point device, so a walking stick doesn't count, they can get the green sticker park elsewhere for double the listed time displayed.
l don't know how they are going to enforce this on private property like shopping centre car parks and Bunnings though.

In Queensland it's enforceable in all carparks. There's every chance that applies in every state and territory, under the Road Related acts.

It may be enforceable, but it never (or hardly ever) is unfortunately. I'd love to see more people getting booked for abuse of permits or not having them.

Perhaps complaints about places regularly abused, would encourage enforcement.

My late FiL had a permit, but looked as healthy as a scrub bull. His heart was only working at 25%, we would drop him in the disabled zone (with the permit), then park the car elsewhere. That left the limited disability spots for genuine disabled drivers.

Stupid system generally: I had a hip resurfaced three years ago and was on crutches and then a stick for 6 months but I couldn't get a permit - which would've been useful, since I wasn't allowed to walk more than a couple of hundred metres a day - because it wasn't a permanent disability, yet every able-bodied clown around appears to have one and be abusing the system.

that's strange, going back a couple of years ago Heather had knee surgery and got a temporary permit for 6months which helped.
