Does the Outback meet your towing spec and, if so

Do Subaru put a speed restriction when towing (particularly over 2T) ?

Towing will only be required a couple of times a year for short distances so not too worried about that. Which car?

Yes - 2000kg braked trailer capacity with 200kg ball weight.

No idea on the second question - again with the amount of towing it will do, I’m not concerned about that. Just need the 2000kg rating or else I can’t borrow trailers - and what’s on them - from work when/if needed. Which car?

VW Tiguan? Depending on model, with brakes tows between 1800kg - 2500kg.
Have yet to test drive the new model - will let you know. The folks old Maxima had a CVT and yeah, it’s different...

As for a Tiguan - see first post... Which car?

You havent mentioned them in your exclusions, and I know its a dirty word around here but the Jeep Cherokee might fit your bill. 3.2 V6 (no diesel unfortunately) and 2.2T towing in the limited for under $50k

I have a friend with an older one who hasnt had any issue as far as i know, and another who has had a couple of grand cherokees and loves them but we've all heard the horror stories.

Anyway im not neceasarily recommending it but it is an option.
    FINN - '72 88" S3 - 2.286 petrol - yet to go on it's first adventure
    SOLD - '08 D3 4.0 V6 - 265/65/R17 on X5 rims
    GONE '96 D1 300Tdi - 2" lift, 32" tyres, HD rear axles, lockers :(

    DON"T get an X-Trail!
I don't know what they tow but are pretty poor.
We have 4 as our hire fleet, OK to drive but constant build quality problems & every time we need a part they have to phone Japan?
Also bloody low to he ground.

    Wizard

Kia have great warranty and you'll definitely use it. They'll do anything they can to deter you from bringing it in and they'll charge you $180 an hour if they find something isn't under warranty. You can get a replacement car but you'll have to book it in and pick it up and drop it off in business hours
