    Despicably Devious behaviour...

Friend of mine was recently the 'victim' of a most deceitful action, - by a Land Rover owner.

A staunch Nissan- Pootrol owner - with Very Large Manly Tyres and Brutal bar work... had his Daily Driver / Family Wagon pride and joy "modified" by SWMBO. Said Wife was rescued by her (employment) Boss, who deviously loaned them his spare, - TDV6 Range Rover......

He LIKES the driving position, raves over the tight turning circle and even praises detail as steering - wheel's cross section !

And the Power, and the RIDE......

One week and he's more than half-way corrupted...... Another week and he's not going back.

To be fair, I did warn about the need for 'active maintainance' but his only complaint is "Left-hand drive Indicator wand."

    - He'll get used to it.

My mate is all to aware of the dangers of the Land Rover siren call, and refuses to let me give him a lift or even sit in mine, in case he won't be able to go back to his dual cab utes, and ends up having to get one.

In 1971 a "mate" offered to loan me his Series I while I had my old Prefect in bits (yet again). Stupidly I took him up on his offer.

    That's it. Sunk. Ruined.....

Your "mate" would have been popular at the time.

That is not a Prefect - unless I am mistaken, it is a Ford Popular, which never made it to Australia as far as I know. Related to a Prefect, but the rock bottom basic poverty model.

Quite right John. Wasn't the 103E ute sold here as the Popular coupe utility?
