I know a lot of you rubbish Britpart but if they weren't getting parts made, a lot of stuff simply wouldn't be available.
I've bought off Roverlord, KLR Automotive, Karcraft, et al, and, back in the day, Land Vehicle Spares (no longer operating), and Four Wheel Drives when Anda Lawson ran it (are they still in business?). All have been good.
However, if you want Perentie parts, the go to place is definitely KLR Automotive.
I go with Mike at Britannica Restorations on this.. Britpart some good stuff and some not so good. They work within what they have, or can source. They source stuff from China, sure, but who doesn'? They also source OEM from places like Turkey, India, Spain, Mexico.... Often they'll have actual LR stuff, but at BP prices, not LRs. I guess that most suppliers are in the same boat re LR stuff. LR themselves don't do it, so find a supplier that works. It's always going to be fraught.
However, Mario seems able to source good stuff, even now he's not well.
Four Wheel Drives changed hands a few times after Anda sold it and then changed direction.
Seems most of the secondhand parts went to the tip and the Series One Shop purchased the new parts.
They are now South Eastern Auto Parts (or something similar) and will source parts but it's not their core business.
As you mention, a lot of people rubbish Britpart and some claim Bearmach is better.
I wonder how many companies are actually making the aftermarket parts as I suspect both companies source some items from exactly the same suppliers in India/China/Turkey.
Most of the aftermarket rubber parts are rubbish but otherwise I've never had issue with Britpart parts.

I forgot British Motor Imports at Mulgrave (outer Sydney suburb).
Like Karcraft, they have OEM and aftermarket parts. You can specify what you want. Karcraft has 3 grades for pricing of parts. Naturally, OEM will likely be most expensive.
best/cheapest is a bit of an oxymoron isn't it?
