It's the new self morphing electric version, ICE engine turns into an electric motor. Just silently idling away whilst downloading the new software for the whole car.

At least the owner won't have to worry about the old version where the petrol motor morphed into a diesel and used nearly as much oil as petrol. Mate of mine had one of those.

We disconnected the battery and let it sulk for an hour.
After we connected it all up it starts, drives, locks and even the radio works. BUT the rear windows (both sides) won't work.

You can't imagine the fun I'm having with this! After all the RRover gags I've suffered ...hhahhaha!

I've never got involved in marque discussions and have never really copped any crap.

The oil burning beemer I referred to was owned by a couple who liked to dress in black, car was a black wagon but not an X5, and everyone in town oohed and aahed when they bought it.

I used to see my mate's wife topping up the oil in the supermarket car park more than twice.

Didn't Landcruisers used have the same problem?

My BIL gets agitated if I mention the oil marks under his 80.

I got abused and called a troll on Exploroz when I dared mention the probs our son had with his 200 series. Shocking oil consumption, transmission which wouldn't go until the pressure had built up. Tojo said it was because it was a hi-tech gearbox.... he told them his 12 year old Rangie moved off after weeks of standing idle so why not that. No answer
3 years to do something about it resulted in 3 months off the road while they fixed the engine and put a new box in. But the warranty dept. hired a Pajero for him from their used car division which cost them 3K per month.
So much for being unbreakable and unstoppable.

PS. Plus he had to have the rear end suspension strengthened so he could tow his boat.

Had one of those BMW X5 vehicles for 2 years. My recommendation is to sell it as soon as possible. Mine spent 12 months out of the 24 I owned it in the dealership. Think it was having an affair with one of the loan cars at the dealership. Plenty of small problems big ones being 2 new engines and the third was on the way out with same symptoms when sold it with a health report from BMW saying it was in good condition
