    Hi Wortho
Look Im no vet and use the following info at your own use.
When I was working on the farm my sheepdogs and pair of Golden retrievers loved exterminating foxes. They were never encouraged,BUT I would chase any fox across the paddock and soon as I got to the bush the dogs jumped ran and destroyed.
Often they got mange fron the foxes.I was talking to the rep from the Ivomec company oneday and got some "on the side info".From then on I had a jar of Ivomec and would dip a rag in it and rub it on the dogs bare skin on the belly.
    No more worms,fleas or MANGE.
A word of warning DO NOT GIVE IT ORALLY YOU WILL KILL THE DOG.
I would almost gaurantee it will kill the ticks as wall as that is what they use on cows.
Now all you need to do is find a sheep or cow cocky willing to sell or give you a bit as you dont need 20lts of the stuff.
I REPEAT NEVER ADMINISTER IVOMEC ORALLY TO YOUR DOG YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY KILL IT.

Ivermectin is the constsituent of most of the cattle pour ons aswell as the yearly heartworm injection for dogs, the concentrations for the animal size is the variation, drop down to your vet and get a dog specific variety.

Hmmm.... I'm fairly sure I'd rather deal with the ticks any other way than by holding my dog while a camel pi$$3d on it

Having said that, it's just out there enough that a dog could well enjoy it.

My info is out of date now, but when we had a dog (up till feb this year ) they said frontline only controlled ticks for the first 2 of it's 6 week usefullness. What about talking to the local vet? If you're having the problem, someone else in your area will have dealt with it for sure.

Andrew "orally" does that mean you can't talk to your dog about it?
