    How about the rider who ran into the back of the English rider? Never seen that before. The English rider got back on the bike & finished, but the other team were put out of the race.

    My feel good moment from the games is the 800 metre runner Peter Bol. Born in Khartoum, Sudan, his family fled the civil war when he was 4, they lived in an Egyptian refugee camp for four years, before immigrating to Australia. He grew up in Perth, arrived in Toowoomba at the age of eight. He is the first Australian man in 53 years to reach an Olympic 800 metre final. He and his training partner Joseph Deng , are running for the Sudanese youngsters in Australia to show them there is a way ahead for them.Good on them. The final is tonight I believe.

    There is always some who just can't do the right thing.Some of Australia's 7 a side and the Olyroos teams got on the grog on the flight home and misbehaved. However, that doesn't take the gloss off a magnificent performance by the majority of athletes. From the New Daily;

    Kind words for Peter Bol. He did his best, just fell short.

    Good on Bol. Inspiring.

    I'm impressed by the sport climbing. The girls swarm up the wall like spiders in as little as 7 seconds. Amazing.
    I tried that once at a school camp, but only crawled halfway up, missed a handhold and fell off, so I know how hard it really is.

    Thet's it, spiders. Good description. Crazy.

    In one Olympics we came away with a saying " doing a Bradbury". Now we have another, " doing a Dubler". It's when you help a mate through tough times. I saw the race, never seen anything like this.

    After two days, and nine-and-three-quarters events, only one man could get Ash Moloney over the line (msn.com)

    Haven't seen any Ash news here this tournament, so I'll just say "good bloody show".

    Actually, that's not entirely true. Seeing Ash demolish her opponents in ~60-90 minutes and the men go out to 5 hours.... Let the Women play 5 sets. They say they want to.

    Anyway, she's a bloody legend and bringing Evonne out to present the mug was the only thing tennis Australia have done right in 2 weeks.

    Have to put Rafa up there with Ash. Two magnificent fightbacks from what seemed an impossible situation. What I liked most about Ash was she thought her way back, using her brain , and never lost hope. A great , humble, role model. The less said about the " special K's ", the better.
