I just want a change to 28 hour days. Could do with a few more hours to get stuff done.

In pre-Meiji Japan the daylight hours were longer in Summer than in Winter, because there were a set number of hours between sunrise and sunset - which meant that each summer hour was longer.

Magpies can be picky Philip. Riding last night a few runners in front of me got a few good swoops. They seem to know me and have never swooped me walking running or riding at the spot a few hundred metres from my place.

Having Dalmatians as a kid and later and my footy team might help me apparently

I live in a very treed area and there was a nest of Butcher Birds in a big Turpentine just off my property.

Well I befriended the female and the chick and they would eat out of my hand , and the male would come about 2 metres away and I would throw him mince balls.

BUT that bastard would always attack me if I had breakfast on the deck. I painted "moon Eyes" on my hat yet he would still attack me from behind.

I came back from a trip once and was changing the water tank on my camper trailer and he went my feet which were sticking out from under the trailer over and over and were in thongs.

Luckily they have moved over the road now, but they will still come when I call them.

I have a friend whose granddaughter was attacked by one and lost the sight of one eye.

Same thing in European countries (that actually used hours) until some form of timekeeping mechanism became common around the middle ages.
