Summer has certainly sprung early here in Brisbane, where it is 27 today with a bushfire burning east of the motorway towards Capalaba.

DM, we hit 30.1° here, at noon. I'm hoping for some rain, as the westerlies we had last week, have really dried things out. Have the 150 litre spray tank in the atv and have started supplementary watering of the fruit trees, ornamentals and rain forest trees. It's good for applying the Charlie Carp too.
25.2° as I type, with 66% humidity. Quite pleasant. I may crack a Coopers and retire to the deck.

Its definitely drying out here - I have been driving round with the back flap rolled up as I can do this since there is no dust. Yesterday I drove up to the NE corner, and failed to note that one section of track has dried out enough to kick up dust. Now I'm going to have to hose out the back of the 2a! Never mind, it is supposed to rain again Saturday.

Its nice here now but we lost about 7 lambs last week in the cold snap. They were all a few weeks old as well so not newies. Oh well, the joys of farming...

Rain is certainly needed. We are down to about half total tank capacity.
We had our first carpet python of the season sniffing around the chook shed last night. Beautiful animal.
    So Spring has definitely sprung.

So it appears parts of Qld have had good rain, but SEQ has had three failed wet seasons and Brisbane's main dam Wivenhoe is low.
Water is being moved from the Gold and Sunshine Coasts to Brisbane. Water restrictions are coming.
Wonder when they will start desalinating?

What's the humidity like where you are, Tombie? It certainly makes a difference . Presently on 88% outside and 21°.

You can keep those winds, too.
