    Summer.....already?

Well....I think it's just about time to put the wellies away and bring out the thongs. I know it's only early August but nature seems to be saying hot weather is coming early. The Pacific Black Ducks and the Wood Ducks paired up some weeks ago. Same with the Plovers and they've been swooping on any one intruding onto their patch of ground. Then there are the scaly wriggle sticks who have also made an appearance.

    What have you seen?

We're heading into double digit temperatures again and daylight is getting longer. It makes me soooo happy!
    Cheers

I think it might be a wet one. Not a pelican to be seen around these parts. When big rains are on the way, the Pelicans go west, all the way to nesting grounds. Happened before the 2011 floods, and it's an aboriginal observation. However we've been in lockdown and I've only been along the beachfront, so they could all be over at Redcliffe, at the Co-op.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The pair of swallows that roost outside the kitchen window have started refurbing their nest, so the breeding program must be on the way.
