Don’t bitch about it, I’d rather be in your position than having had leukaemia.

It doesn't always seem to work like that does it?
My SiL as did her father (hereditary?) hit the bottle for many years (white wine mostly) because her old man spent all his time at the bowling Club. She got crook & now gets a whole lot of benefits tossed at her where we suckers looked after our general health & saved & would not be entitled.
Don't need to be eligible but it just indicates how the system can work but we still wouldn't like to be in her situation Blindness & all sorts of **** going on.
I too had a bad reaction to the booster, had a cough for a month that needed cough mixture every 6 hours religiously, also affected my appetite for about a month, and affected my sleep for a couple of months. I was so worried about it I saw my doctor who said it is not uncommon and they don't even bother reporting side affects unless someone is hospitalised for it. Benefits were I lost about 5 kilo's and haven't had covid so far. My doctor did say to get a different vaccine for the next booster, but I must admit I'm still a bit gun shy as I was in the chemist the other day and thought about getting the 2nd booster but started thinking about the side affects and walked out, but I am going to check my work schedule and make an appointment.
how do you figure that?
Lots of people still getting very sick and plenty still dying after being vaccinated, last death of someone I knew was 2 wekks after being tested positive, 3 shots in....
Its a failure of government and a disgrace that you need to "qualify" to get medical treatment for covid given the messaging and goings on over the last 2.5 years
Yes, we've all heard (read) your whinging about how those who don't get vaccinated are selfish and should be gaoled or executed or.... whatever. [bighmmm]
The last time I looked we do not live in an autocracy, therefore, allowing individuals to make choices about their individual circumstances. Please stop labelling EVERYONE as selfish because they don't get vaccinated. They choose not to be vaccinated for whatever medical/religious/conspiratorial reason they like and IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!! MOVE ON it is getting tiresome!!! No one has come on here continually saying, everyone who is vaccinated is a nut bag have they??? No!
I am vaccinated, not that it is anyone's business, which (as has always been stated), does not guarantee that you will not get Covid, nor does it guarantee any lack of severity. Yes, the general advise is, being vaccinated, you should avoid hospitalisation and death but there are no guarantees.
Even though I am vaccinated, I believe these expensive magic pills may have significantly reduced my symptoms and eased the pressures on my body's own systems to fight this thing and may not have left me with this lingering dry cough. But hey, I'm no doctor so I don't know for sure, and as I couldn't get the medication, we'll never know.
More of the passive aggressive stuff we have all become used to.
The antivirals are in addition to any vaccinations you may or may not have.
I have had 4 vaccines and given my age and health profile I would be also be prescribed the anti-virals if I caught Covid which thankfully I have been lucky enough to avoid so far.
There has been a bit in the media recently about income support being extended to cover those with Covid and their close contacts who are either casual workers or don't have sick leave. Not much else has been disclosed about eligibility for the payment.
My niece is a casual worker in the health care industry and recently got Covid and had to stop work - in her industry for two weeks - she applied for the payment but was knocked back - apparently there is some sort of assets test and as she has a car that could be sold to fund her "sick leave" and a couple of Thou in the bank she was deemed ineligible for the payment so has to fund her sick leave herself.
Now she did the right thing and stayed home and isolated but how many learning they would need to sell their car or use their meager savings to pay for government enforced sick leave would continue to work with covid - some certainly would.
