Its OK, WA doesn't need them anyway do they? [bigrolf] Being serious, what currently presents a bigger risk in the short term to the states that are missing out on vaccine supply, an outbreak in NSW that is less controlled because vaccinations are not being done as fast as they could be or a population in those states with a lower number of people vaccinated? Its a difficult question, although if posed in terms of Australian lives saved then the maximum number of doses sent to NSW and Victoria would have the greatest effect on loss of life and so that is what should happen, after all the federal govt has a responsibility to all of Australia and an obligation to send the doses where they will have the greatest effect.

IF NSW hadn't completely stuffed it up with the last outbreak it AND VIC wouldn't need the lions share of the jabs now would they[bigwhistle]

Now we have a situation where NSW will reach 80% way ahead of any other State/territory and will insist on opening up the international boarder regardless of the situation elsewhere in the country.

Unfortunately that is the situation that we are in. Do you think the average Western Australian would rather see a higher death toll in the eastern states or Western Australians vaccinated earlier to please a political agenda. we can't have both.

the difference in percentage between states is like a fortnight worth of vaccinations.
not sure i would call that way ahead.


chances are when the 80% mark is reached, the rate of vaccinations will slow down as the "objective" has been achieved.
you know what would be funny.
if the govt was putting out false data, so that it underreports vaccinations. so when the govt says we're at 80%, we're really at 95%

ive no evidence of this, just a thought from a cynical mind.

Nobody wants to see ANY deaths even knowing that NSW is pushing to get vaccinated earlier to please their own political agenda and despite NSW putting the entire countries physical/finacial health at risk.
WA is prepaired to wait until it is safe to open up its borders even if that means that they miss out on a Fair share of jabs that will slow down its vaccination programme, NSW should also be prepared to wait untill the other States and Territories catch up instead of forging ahead with their own agenda.

Eevo's right, there isn't a lot of difference in time between the states anyway so it might not even be an issue for opening up as long as all states agree to opening up at the agreed percentages.

NSW hits 80% in the middle of NOV and WA and QLD at the end of Dec according to the graph, by which time the ACT and Tassie will be waiting for NSW and Vic

NSW got extra when they needed it and so did VIC. September will see the other states get more than NSW & VIC, swings and roundabouts. Perhaps the over-the-top hyperbole can be dropped.

I wasn't aware that Vic actually got extra vaccines during lockdown 4.0 or 5.0 - but I do recall a YouTube video of Ms Berejiklian specifically saying that she saw no reason why Vic should get any extra.
