Get in a car and drive.
There's no one stopping you crossing into NSW.
For that matter it's only random patrols, and good will stopping you coming from NSW to Vic, or leaving Melbourne for that matter.

He's not promoting it, its true, my inlaws just left Victoria for NSW the other day, drove straight over the boarder, not a road block or anything whatsoever in sight.

My understanding it is not illegal to travel from Victoria to NSW as NSW does not have border restrictions. The issue is going back to Vic, crossing into the ACT or SA or Qld.
