I am aghast at the lack of clear thinking and the stupidity I see pouring out of the mouths of journalists, media personalities and some politicians. I refer to the demands for a time table as to when the restrictions will end.
We are dealing with an implacable enemy with Covid and so far it has us bottled up so it is winning. So how can anyone predict when we will defeat it.
I liken the situation to London in the 1940s when Germany was blitzing the city. How would it have been if Londoners had demanded of their government to know when the bombing would stop and to emphasize their point held public rallies in Trafalgar Square whist an air raid was underway.

Despite "Stay at Home" orders being in place in the ACT for 2 weeks, yesterday 19,000 checkins at just one Bunnings store, so probably well over 20,000 persons in one store just in one day. Obviously lots of home renovations being done during work from home.
Quite rightly this was considered unacceptable, so all major retail stores that had exemptions like Bunnings and Office Works are now closed except for click and collect or home delivery.
I just wish people all around the country would just follow the rules, whether laid down or in spirit and maybe things might start to come together.

We are hoping that once Qld reaches 70% of eligible people vaxed, and if there are no outbreaks in NSW near the border, that the border zone will be reinstated and we will be able to see our families again. Would be nice to see them before Christmas. But it all depends on what happens in NSW, which is currently not promising.
Yes it is not promising but the other part of the equation are vaccination rates which Qld is way behind (second last) so both States have their role to play if the border zone is to be reinstated.
Yes would be great if all areas of the country get to 70-80% vaccination rates by Christmas.

Yes, I we do click and collect even though I can go into Bunnings for work stuff as a Tradie, I still don’t unless I absolutely have to. Was in there last week for work and there was more than 1 family wandering about - I asked an Employee why they were allowed in and they said they weren’t allowed to question people or confront them, so the rules just get broken by those that don’t give a **** about anyone else.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
I asked a similar question about morons not wearing masks, at Woolies the other week. I was told they couldn't force them to comply. Surely they have a duty of care and can refuse entry, or is the duty of care to the bottom line trumps?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
